Tough loss but one game after the team clinches the playoffs for the 1st time in years I just cannot rip them.

Boulton and Carkner...these guys should never see the ice again in an Isles jersey. Boulton is the ultimate waste of space and Carkner might be the most consistently out of position player I have ever seen on this team.
If Cappy puts either of them on the ice for a single second in the playoffs then I seriously question his thought process.

Carkner is slow, and often out of position. But he adds a degree of toughness that can be very beneficial in the playoffs. He's big, and can fight with most heavy weights, although he doens't often win his fights against them, it helps having someone who can at least go toe to toe with them. (I'm saying this now knowing if you have any other heavy weights who could fulfill this role)

Agreed and I'm with ya there. Its just Cappys thought process of having to have Boulton AND Carkner in the lineup simultaneously...its beyond ridiculous. Just gets on my nerves when he does that because nothing good comes out of it (and I don't buy the fights in the Toronto game either, I think thats just what players say because they think its the right thing to say - if you need to watch a fight to start moving your legs and shooting then thats horsepoop).

like poop.
But congrats on clinching and enjoy the ride. Impressive tying the game up late and winning in OT.

Matt Martin can hold his own very well and kick the sh!t out of people when needed. I don't mind as much having Carkner in the lineup but its the Carkner/Boulton combo thats just flat out dumb.

Carkner drove us nuts in the Ottawa series last year. Very effective player

I have no reason to be mad at this team and im really not. Its just frustrating that the 2 games in a row that he plays, Boulton takes dumb/useless/unnecessary penalties and the penalty results in a goal against. Drives me nuts. Its much more him than Carkner that gets on my nerves. You just dont need both of them out there so thats what agitated me most about tonights game. We have Matt Martin for toughness who at least is a good player. Boulton brings nothing...

OK, ill stop ranting about Boulton now. Pumped for NVMC playoff hockey.

I really, really want to avoid the Pens. I want any other spot than 8th. Tonight sucked. It sucks that with all this winning, one night we falter, and we drop 2 seeds. Definitely seemed like a playoff clinching hangover.

We don't want them either. Go jersey for you! But on the flip side, playing them rd 1 maybe the easiest time to

Crosby will be back. I think we can give Pittsburgh a series, but if we play the way we have the last couple of games, we won't beat anyone.

Yea a few of my buddies got us some tix today. Haven't spoken to him yet on exact location but he said they were decent seats and pretty expensive. For playoffs, I don't care how much it costs, its enough of a treat to just be there for the games so I definitely don't mind splurging for Isles playoffs. I can only imagine how much playoff tickets at the Barclays center will be when that time comes. I hope they don't price out the diehards for the corporate suits.

We will get squashed if we play like we did tonight/Tuesday.
Must come back with a strong game against Buffalo and then we shall see how the cards fall.

Agree 100%...need to win tomorrow and gets some momentum back...will be tough to beat Pittsburgh in a seven game series but you never know...see 1993 playoffs....

I was at Game 6 against the Pens in '93. One of my favorite games I've ever been at.

I was there as well. Its mind boggling when you think that year was the last time we won a playoff round. All downhill after that.
Thanks Milbury!
